joshua vandercar - cd design

type of project: print design

a friend of mine (who goes by the name “ua”) wanted a simple cd insert for a cd he recorded himself. i modeled the design after his bare bones voice and guitar sound. i also really wanted to carry out that “hand made” feel of the cd production throughout the design as well.

metaFour jazz - concert posters

type of project: print design

these are just two examples of our jazz quartet’s upcoming gig posters. i always make them in two sizes: larger ones to hang up places, and smaller quarter page handouts to give to people.

fuller still - “color and feeling” cd design

type of project: print design

using the pictures from the fuller still photo shoot, as well as other photos i had taken, and even hand written pieces of paper scanned in, i created a full color cd package design for their studio release cd “color and feeling.” they were more than happy with the design, and i later designed their website and press kit in the same style.

personal business card design

type of project: print design

my business card design. (an older version though… with an out-of-date address. so don’t try to visit me there, since i haven’t lived there for a couple years :-) ) the back of the card lists a couple of my websites

the restoration project - concert poster

type of project: print design

the restoration project is a colorado based band/non-profit organization that i’ve done several projects for. this design was a concert poster to send to upcoming show venues so they could advertise the concert.

new year’s party flyer

type of project: print design

this past new year’s i decided to throw a party at my apartment. of course i had to design a flyer :-) i actually liked this design so much i hung one on the outside of my apartment door, and it’s still there now.

tammy ann winn - butterfly CD design

type of project: print design

after doing the photo shoot for tammy, i used those photos, and a supplied watercolor scan to create the design for her cd, titled “butterfly.” the CD packaging she decided on was the “digi-pack” format, where the cd packaging opens like a book to reveal a pocket (for the booklet) and a plastic tray (for the cd). the main concept of this CD design revolves around the themes in the music: struggle & questioning to peace, joy & simplicity.
